completely and totally unrelated to the previous posting is nofrontiere's website re-appearance after almost five years.

just for the records.

probably too late for this update: tonight is mak-nite and that's why you can get free access to nofrontiere's latest 404 error media installation.

the web definitely needs hyper-referential quality assurance.

news from the dead end of media.

"der kurier" has two articles about weblogs so full of non-sense that it's not even easily possible to link them here. if you want to suffer and this link does not work feel free to point your browser to kult.kurier.at (ooh, it's cult, baby) and click on "so baust du dir dein eigenes online-tagebuch" or "update your tagebuch" (thanks to stefan pollach for the hint).

btw. a new motto for weblogs is born at kurier, too: "aktualisiere häufig und knüpfe links zu anderen seiten".

because sites like kurier won't.

reconciliation for the rather stumpy royal tannenzapfen comes with lone scherfig's italiensk for begyndere. the first dogma 95 movie that does not deprive a certain lightness in all that meaning of life.

get your own free root certificate at christian barmala's free ca. a very exciting idea. nevertheless, we definitely need a better infrastructure of trust to beat the bigcos like verisign et al. they have a much too strong position regarding allocation and verification of identity – issues that formerly belonged to the government. i don't like the idea at all that such power is in the hands of a few private and commercial organisations.

btw. at christian's site you also can dump a certificate to take a look at its contents in cleartext.

recommendation du jour: don't let your heating system be maintained by a universal service company like allgas volkmann. all they want is your money (well, who does not?).

ask the manufacturer to come by and look after their product. they are more interested in what's wrong with it. they like feedback for improvement of their production.

the royal tenenbaums. not worth the money. boring. uninspired. even john irving tells more entertaining stories.

i have seen rushmore and loved it. so i had high expectations for the tenenbaums. disappointing, that's what it is.

"i'm not wes anderson, but i run the wes anderson weblog." – not wes anderson.

subsequent delivery: what really happened in augarten last saturday.

besides really wicked films (e.g. acción mutante) the shock cinema archives also list a bunch of movies with very funny titles: e.g. "fat guy goes nutzoid", "the harlem globetrotters on gilligan's island" or "take me naked". and not all of them are simply splatter or pr0n movies, just think of viva knievel!
