jeffrey zeldman: "big business is now discovering that old methods don’t work in this new medium, but big business is not learning from its discoveries. like a rejected suitor who badmouths a woman because she isn’t interested in him, big business now proclaims that the web is “cold,” that the web is dead, that the web was a waste of time after all."

i like the metaphor of the rejected suitor. the heads of the big business represent a male archetype which never understood why the heck a woman could not be interested in him (or his domination, respectively). let's wave good-bye to him. forever. hopefully.

what the huck? i thought the times of witch-hunt are over? oh, sincerely, i forgot: mankind is still alive! let the dogs out, mccarthy! daeds i dog! daeds i dog!

now please report me, will you!?

tomorrow is summer solstice and the weather got no balls. i would like to bounce around a fire like nuts before the days get shorter again...

a couple of sensomatics had a lot of fun in berlin. with floricsome commentaries.

le piano graphique. feels like full fun for me.

"welcome to the system 6 heaven!"

i wonder if it will run on my pizzabox with 32megs... (i don't think so).

tonight the second fastest weblog rallye driver walid al-khalily does what he can do even better (heheh): playing jazzy guitar tunes together with two other guys (a dj and a drummer as far as i know) as "bela butono" in vienna's volksgarten banane. they will be presenting tracks of their first record and i am really curious what they will sound like (btw. latest rumours state that the gig will not start before midnight...). the setting also features folks from café del mar and vienna scientists. and there is even a special appearance of the british short film night. how exciting!

praise myself: i just looked at the nofrontiere website again, one of my first html jobs that went online and even got an award. that was 1997. so long ago. i coded uppercase html tags at that time. the future is lowercase. however, the webgroup really did a great job. i am still amazed by the janek section (btw. can you find janek's hidden picture down in the depths of the sea?).

the former slavedriver of nofrontiere is nowadays called "leading-edge web designer" (according to local newspapers), janek is still fishing (i suppose) and i moved further, in a more fruitful direction (at least that is what i think when i get the whimsyload).
