shit, did i miss something not being at monomedia in berlin? i think so (at least a little bit). richard barbrook and joseph weizenbaum were there (and etoy, yawn!...). among other people i never heard of before. but latter are the reason why it could have been interesting.

crazy cow: i misheard exactly those words, too! thanks to partykeller for link & revelation...

cool: the next denki groove album is approaching europe! they are fantastic and irresistibly funny (rodney alan greenblat likes them, too!). "voxx" what's the new album called comes along with liner notes describing the tracks. i hardly can remember when i have seen something like that the last time... must have been some cruel jazzrockfusion crap. irony? weird japanese humor? i dunno. i just want the record. anyone willing to send me a copy from japan, please? jigoku e ochiro denki groove!

denki groove dj takkyu ishino is coming to vienna 3rd of june spinning the wheels at some bloody "rave".

once upon a time i got mail from a guy from the states whose last name was piefke. he wanted to know if i could tell him where the name originates from. i could not be very helpful since i only knew that austrians like to call germans that way and that the sausage dog in erich kästner's "pünktchen und anton" is called piefke, too. now here is a german gloss reflecting about the word. it does not provide a real answer either, but i know that a wise man knows more questions than answers (or so they say).

one of the finest records i am proud to own is spooky's found sound (not to be muddled up with dj spooky, yuck!). interestingly, there is a well-compiled history of found sound featuring luigi russolo (who coined the term that gave name to "the art of noise"), marcel duchamp (heavily reflected by clockdva), the german dadaist's club "cabaret voltaire" being named after, leon theremin (at least the sound of his thereminvox is widely known since mars attacks), then cage, schaeffer, varese, stockhausen and finally – dj spooky! – why the hell isn't anybody listening?

did i miss the blog entries about natacha merritt and her digital diaries (published by taschen)? or is a 21-year-old nymphomanic hippie-chick with a digicam not that interesting for the weblog world? i expected to find hundreds of links, thousands of discussions and millions of dollars... sex sold-out? however, a good excuse to provide the links myself, heheh.

incredible: dan hartung considers my little idea to solve the "first post" problem as a great one! hi dan and thank you. that's a very nice way to start reading new blogs...

interesting lecture at the university of applied arts: the so-called "web activists" hanz extreme of etoy and ray thomas of rtmark are speaking tonight about "media hacking/cutting-edge public relations for acitivists" (more in futurezone).

etoy media activists connection compiled: etxtreme, micromusic, ubermorgen.com/.net, rosa, userunfriendly and certainly silverserver.

still amazing: the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, earth edition... telepolis: "douglas adams stellt in der berliner kulturbrauerei sein internetprojekt h2g2 vor".

"what are the benefits of speaking to your fans via email? it's quicker, easier and involves less licking."

"being john malkovich" – being disappointed: everyone praised this movie, already times ago (that's the way it is until hollywood flicks go austria). but besides the surely funny idea of the malkovich vessel i could not enjoy enough entertaining moments or challenging thoughts in the plot – er, which plot, by the way? for the social and philosophic questions of a man loves a woman loves a woman is married with the first i still prefer french chatter movies. makes me think twice again if i should watch other hollywood shmollywood crap like "magnolia" or even the long-awaited andy kaufmann tribute man on the moon"...
