minipops are little, tiny, minigifs of popular people. how sweet! certainly, my favourite is this one.
when i was young they called stuff like that "bravo starschnitt"... a series of posters that put together resulted in a huge megaposter of one's favorite pop star (e.g. a-ha, kajagoogoo or nena at my time).
the times have been changing and today huge is out and tiny is in. welcome at the fin de siècle.
btw: there is some bigger stuff as well e.g. a kraftwerk wallpaper!
on the search for web pages related to “trash” i found that a “nevada brothel to honor andy kaufman with ‘wrestling room’”. this story also reminded me of the movie “man on the moon” i expect to see next year in europe.
why am i searching for web pages related to “trash”? to entertain myself sitting on a truck’s tyre hose in local private tv station tiv’s bluebox, naturally!
sensomatic's advent_ures have temporarily moved. glad that they're back!
sensomatic has not been reachable since days. pimi wrote to me that it is impossible to update the site and the guy who is refered to as technical contact does not react on complaints. however, i decided to send a message to him, too. why is it that i always have to tamper? i don't know...
i also sent a note to the admin of alter.net where the packets get lost according to a traceroute (unfortunately, i do not know any good traceroute gateway in austria so i chose one in the european neighborhood).
senso, i miss you...
i like reading scripting news. dave winer has a good approach towards discussion on the web. here on haboglabologgin' i do not provide a possibility to leave a message. no feedback form, no message board or guestbook. this article by dave winer points out some arguments why.
true, the main reason is that blogger does not provide such a thing. but i thought a lot about what "participation" means. and i am taking a new direction here, a different one than before, when i generally qualified websites without a discussion group as insufficient.
if anybody is reading this and is really interested in what i write here and / or considers it important to add a point of view to it this is certainly possible via e-mail.
on helma there was a lot of "second-guessing" and "proving wrong" going on. however, the difference might be that unlike dave winer's web sites helma never took any attempt to provide a description what it is all about. sure, this was a big opportunity for the editors. but quite often the discussions were lame and / or energy-consuming (i think that topic could be an interesting essay to be written in depth).
here is the wonderful sensomatic site of pimi and flo. be sure to watch advent_ures, their exciting advent calendar.
captain lung has a weblog, too.
sometimes i like to find out what's that site running.
at leo's i learn english everyday. to blame for any language flaws... :)
just beginning a new phase of bloggin' i could write about so many things occupying my mind in the last months since i stopped writing for helma... i think i will distribute a lot i have written in these first moments to different postings later (a pity that i cannot assign a custom date to a new blogger posting backdating is fun!).
and still there are a lot of questions to be answered: who the hell am i? and what the heck does haboglabobloggin' mean?
hello blogger here i come!
from 14 october 1998 until 8 december 1999 there was a weblog called helma in austrian language. perhaps the most popular austrian weblog so far. maybe even the first and only collaborative one, who knows. i participated with helma from the beginning until 14 june 1999.
helma is closed now, but the site is still accessible. what happened in the meantime?
ps: i am writing "austrian language" by intention. for many people austrian might not be so different from german. i should know better. however, yet i have to find a good excuse why haboglabobloggin' is in english...
pps: there are no kangaroos in austria.
