AT&T just declared war on an open internet (and us).

(…) AT&T made a dim prophecy official by announcing that its new DirecTV Now streaming service would be zero rated: it won’t count against its customers’ data caps. Zero rating isn’t new — T-Mobile has been writing the manual on how to get away with it — but now it’s finally happening at a scale that matters. And AT&T’s version is much worse than T-Mobile’s.

There may be no worse place for mentally ill people to receive treatment than prison – yet a growing number end up in the ‘new asylums’.

As of December 31, there were 3,012 open mental health cases among county inmates in Massachusetts. But only 216 inmates—7 percent—were Massachusetts Department of Mental Health clients. For every 14 inmates with mental illness, only one had access to a full array of state services.

Datalegreya is a typeface which can interweave data curves with text (via reddit.com).

Datalegreya can be used in all contexts where small space is available to synthetically display graphical data: connected objects, embedded displays, annual reports, weather report, stock prices, etc. It doesn’t need any specialized software: users just have to install it in the operating system and launch any software able to display OpenType fonts, such as Microsoft Word, Apple TextEdit, Adobe Suite etc. Standards compliance makes it equally available on the web or software embedded.

Please be aware of this when trying to sync your Toby tabs!

Restore Your Lost Tabs in Toby and How to Prevent It.

Everything is perfect until I turn on “Sync to Google Drive“ on my Acer Chromebook 15 with the same Google Account. It didn’t sync back from Google Drive but replaced with the new default tab groups. The Chrome on OS X detects the new version on Google Drive and replace my local version. All my saved tabs are gone.

Web development has a very short memory. If you're just another developer, you'll be forgotten within months of your last github activity. That's why if you're thinking of leaving tech, you need to be real damn certain.
