silly day: first one of the fuses at home blows and the p3k machine goes offline. later in the afternoon, the silverserver connection has troubles: traceroute gets stuck twice at core.sil.at... dang.

happened to be the cause for some problems at antville.org, too. (because two of the three nameservers are connected via sil.at.)

jeffrey zeldman: "If Steven created the site with CGI and Perl and used tables for layout, this is the story of a boy who made a website for his own amusement, perhaps gaining social points in the process. [...] But if Steven used AJAX and Ruby on Rails, Yahoo will pay millions and Tim O’Reilly will beg him to keynote."

nice round-up: hannes has some cvs statistics about global changes in helma's and antville's source repository.

update: i was a little bit more curious about the overall performance in both repositories. (most of all because of the missing libraries.) thus, i created statistics of the whole apps and hop directories. (of course with the same preliminaries as described by hannes.)

an ending (ascent).

to whom it may concern – without any long introduction or a lot of words:

as of today i stepped back from being an official antville developer (whatever "official" might mean in this case).

i will be unsubscribed from the antville dev and user mailing-lists, soon. there was not a lot of feedback from me, anymore, anyway.

hopefully, this little announcement makes it at least a little bit easier for all the people who obviously rack their brains about what's going on with antville.

i've had a really fabulous time. thanks to all of the good ones who altogether made it happen. you know best who you are.

lest we forget, antville is gorgeous and always will be.

(and no worries: antville.org continues to be up and running, no sea change here.)

see you around the bend.

wankr beta.

what's wrong with tags? or curvy edges? and most of all: doesn't this affect the future of twoday or the new helma screen design?
