yesterday at a party the host visually garnished the club packed with people by discretely projecting the movie "thunderbirds" on one of the back walls. this is a wicked flick starring a bunch of baffling alive marionettes and impressing by an enormous love for details (not to mention the lot of special effects, however partly really cheap ones).

the movie (and many others with marionettes as well as with real actors and even with mixtures of both) was realized by the british couple sylvia and gerry anderson mid of the 1960's. the puppets give a strange feeling of discomfort to me, i guess that is because although their mimics are very realistic (lips and eyes are moving) they always forget to blink (what you should never do).

asked why she showed the movie (apart from her being in film business) the host answered that this was the first movie she could remember having seen as a child and being quite frightened of because of the eerie atmosphere.
