btw. if you have seen the movie "lost in translation" you probably got fooled by the stupid idea japanese people could only say "lock'n'loll". (and just for a bad larf.) in fact, japanese cannot pronounce the "l" at all and thus say "ribingu rumu" for "living room".

btw. i still wonder why none of the movie's reviews offered the slightest reflection about charlotte's travel to kyoto.

people there told me they moved away from tokyo to escape the megalomanic urban madness of shinjuku. in fact, kyoto represents the traditional japan. it's green, quiet and comfortable.

thus, i am still uncertain if this somehow misplaced and quite irritating movie scene is a pretty reactionary twist or a beautifully poetic subtlety of the plot (just as my mood goes).
