"Dear Madams and Sirs.

We wonder why recent updates on our podcast server are not reflected in ITMS -- neither instantly, nor after more than one day.

If you compare our podcast's appearance in ITMS with our podcast website or the corresponding feed you might notice the differences.

Thus, we (believing to speak in the names of many other podcast publishers out there trying to embrace what Apple offers) kindly aks for some advice regarding the following questions.

a) What is the update schedule of the ITMS podcast cache? When are podcasts updated?

b) Will meta information (like art work etc.) be updated, too?

c) What happens when a podcast does not conform to Apple's spec after initial publishing? How will I notice? How can I debug?

d) Why can anyone publish a feed, even if she or he obviously is not the maintainer, nor producer, nor affiliate?

e) Do you plan to answer these and similar questions publicly in an updated version of your podcast specs (or any other prominent place)?

We very much appreciate Apple's efforts to support podcasting and would like to encourage ITMS as open and preferably free platform for the whole podcasting community.

Thus, we think it will be worthwhile as well as necessary to communicate these and similar issues publicly."
