hannes pointed me to jack saturn's latest postings on saturn.org. yes, this is still and again about blogger since jack is now a former member of pyra. besides the different view one gets about the whole mess that's supposed to be there sooner or later, i feel two very important thoughts manifesting more and more:

  1. i respect npo's (non-profit organizations) more than ipo's.
  2. i should respect free services more than paying for patents (even more than i did).
me too, "i am disappointed about the economy" (quite for a long time, to be precise). more disappointed than i ever was of the technical shortcomings of blogger, for instance. that's why i never flamed the blogger team and that's why i contempt those who did. and, maybe tragically, this is why the give-away people will never accept any expectations from their community (quite contrary: they justly expect that you put your heads together and your hands on the fabric in return). not to mention they would ever meet those sometimes incredibly exaggerated demands. hello, remember helma?

however, my belief that i can make a living and "waste" time and energy in projects that give me (and probably also you) a lot of headaches and no income (ie. bucks) at all is yet unbroken. perhaps a consequence of this technical invention and the evolution of my personality in the jelly of society i am embedded in. for now i am sure i can do it the way so many people struggled for and miserably failed. i have proven this to myself with quite a bunch of projects, last one being popo.at.

reclaimer: mr check is a service helping to better understand german online texts. by selecting a term and clicking on the "mr check button" a window pops up and hopefully gives some explanation or further information about it. such an excellent idea (with such a ridiculous name)! but wait: just one inch beneath the bottom of the window it says: patents pending. makes me wanna throw up on the feet of mr check's boss.

i also would like to provide a dictionary that works the same way but is for free and invites the readers to participate. probably free of content, to be filled by other users just with what they want to communicate. and i cannot (can i?) do this when somebody else owns a patent for this simple idea (and for the sake of synchronicity i spare myself pointing out that it came to my mind before i met mr check)...
