every time i mis-spell a url the way that it is not existent, internet explorer sends a request like

auto.search.msn.com?MT=www.domain.tld/path/to/document&srch=6&prov=&utf8

to microsoft. i really don't like the idea that all those urls are sent to microsoft. i don't like the feeling that i don't even have any control over what is sent to this server. and i assume this must be an extraordinary server log-file. scary.

does anybody know more about this? i only found this message in the vulnerability development mailing list web archive, but i think this must be already a sufficiently discussed issue...

update: now i know at least how to disable the whole autosearch fucktionality. i activated(!) the radio button "just display the results in the main window" (the last but one element in the internet option's advanced tab).
