at least the informal greeting on the occasion of meeting or leaving a hungarian person was no problem for my furry english: szia they say, and pronounce it like "see ya". but that hardly can reimburse for the disturbing bunch of vowel accents (even on umlauts which obviously cannot be displayed on the web, what a shame again) in words i could not even guess most of the time. bocsánat!

is it true that the hungarian word for "road barrier" literally means "lying policeman"? would be a nice metaphorical language, then.
