lucky bastards: euroranch has gained recruitment in person of hans_ heinz who is famous here in vienna but in the internet he is quite unknown. sure, this will change now that he is blogging around together with mr makotter. "the lucky bastards" would be a cool name for a country band.
this weblog-like page should be continued (resp. properly launched) with even greater effort and become a "real" blog. i know the guy and it would be fun to read his odd opinions more often. i mean, actually there are no real opinions there, just the usual mindcrap i am used to hear all night long when i meet him in conspirative places. but he can do better. i know it. go for the blog, mr al-khalily!

either i am not up-to-date or somebody is fooling the world of design with some name-dropping for the sake of selling more of that crap: "in a place of coincidence" shows up one notorious author too many...
it's very good that christian langreiter gets some credits as a rebol lover. he is really cool at programming (not only rebol i assume) and he really deserves respect (as if i am the one to judge that...). he has an excellent background and i like reading his smart opinions. i became a big fan of vanilla and the wiki concept.
however, although frontier and rebol both might sound "like a symphony" they do not play the same tune.
rebol is simple. usertalk kind of. but frontier is imho not (except regarding manila, what i definitely would want to picture separately). there is some truth in the words of userland's self-chosen worst enemy jorn barger who stated – besides very personal rants – that "anyone who uses frontier is tying themselves to an overcomplex app".
sometimes i have the feeling frontier is made for writing on the net the winer way only. especially since the huge power of scripting other applications is not the main focus at userland anymore.
but there is hope. that is rebol. further, hope also reminds me on hop and zope.

hey! i became a rebol beta tester! wonder why, probably i just sent to many feedback messages... this is my first time as a beta tester and i want to take this seriously <g>. well, that is quite easy since rebol/command brings an odbc interface, external library support and access to shell commands. i am so excited!
i chose siegmund as my weblog icon (vienna, psycho analysis, you know, wink, wink, nudge, nudge!). i probably did not completely get behind the idea of those icons but maybe some people indeed do have the right perspective to find one colorful, tiny image in between hundreds of other colorful, tiny images...
meanwhile i entertain myself with some flangynews links: e.g. fisher price little people that look like trekkies or muppets. reminds me of those moon-faced kids from southpark.
