accidental hommage*.

"ich kenne eine ganze reihe von leuten, die luxuslimousinen fahren, zu hause aber höchstens zweit- oder drittklassige sofas haben. solchen leuten traue ich nicht. ein teures auto hat seinen wert, ohne frage, aber es ist und bleibt eben nur ein teures auto. jeder, der geld hat, kann sich eins kaufen. zum erwerb eines sofas aber braucht man würde, erfahrung, philosophie." – murakami haruki, hard-boiled wonderland.

* i wanted to post this on thursday evening but didn't. nevertheless, on friday i discoverd it being published, anyway. no magic intended but i'd call this synchronicity or in this case even a jungian slip.

hm, i missed the announcement that the weblog ads at userland are gone to the mist, too... in consequence there are a lot of javascript errors around in weblog world.

there is an absolutely beautiful, golden full moon rising over the roofs of vienna. i sometimes wonder what would be different if there were two or many of these ancient satellites (like it must be on mars)...

while i am trying to find ways formatting a date's timezone according to w3c, dave winer is desperately waiting for the world to give names to each timezone. kind of antipodes, that's what we are.

the online archive provides the paper's most important articles.

heise.de: "um die soziale kompetenz ihrer absolventen aufzubessern, bietet die fakultät für informatik der tu münchen ihren absolventen einen benimmkurs an". strange, but seems to be necessary or what?

klaus was searching for a site that once upon a time was mentioned at the classic helma: dennis interactive. and it still rocks – although it violates most of my design principles. or even because of that reason...

note to myself (what else?): don't use the word "this" in hyperlinks.

update: on a flat screen you might not see the stars and stripes, at least i didn't – heike did.
