the production of a bell (bell casting) is an incredibly fascinating as well as complex and exhausting process. on the week-end i watched an extensive tv-documentation about the activities at the eifeler glockengiesserei mark. in the end there was a bell weighing 7 tons and being tuned exactly to the tones as calculated in the beginning.

yesterday i went to st. andrä-wördern serving as starting point for a walking-tour to hintersdorf. it wouldn't be austria, if the first thing that happened to me was not being picked up by the constabulary (ie. the police in the country-side) and taken to the station because i must be looking like a drug criminal (which seems to be some kind of obsession here) – at least for them.
nevertheless, a good lunch at the "wirtin im grünen" reimbursed for the investigative intermezzo.
"l.a. without a map" could be worse – no matter if being there in real life or just regarding the movie. yo bro', that's cool. that's the sentence i took home with me. and vincent gallo, as part of an impressing cast, is really acting cool. nevertheless, the plot and mise-en-scène did not knock me off my feet. but maybe that's just because finnish movies speak with a different emotional tongue... and the longer i think about it, the movie seems to be quite a beautiful hommage to samuel fuller, johnny depp and especially matti pellonpää.
