after years of scientific research and heuristic evaluation (heheh) the self-proclaimed jane fonda of bloggærobics (aka p3k) has created a very useful and relaxing exercise for all those ass-tightened bloggers out there. it's new, it's simple and it works efficiently. so here it is:
the next time you find a piece of information you consider important enough to post on your weblog, sit back, relax in your chair, inhale once and exhale twice and then simply don't do it. don't blog it. keep it to yourself. keep it as your personal secret; as a thought only owned by yourself.

today i am looking like a red-bull junkie who got quite an overdose of taurin: i was at the ophtalmologist and got some drops (not candy) trickled in the eyes that made my pupils (not students) inflate like a pair of torched black-hole twin suns... but everything is ok, i was told the black dots i see sometimes in the morning when gazing at light backgrounds just are some harmless liquefactions of the vitreous body (ie. i am "without pathological findings"). however, i wear my sunglasses at work right now and that's propably looking a little bit weird (too cool to be cool).

found a nice weblog called leuschke.org while looking for information about the book the atoms of language by mark c. baker.
heeelp! apache, helma and tomcat are running fine and they even understand each other pretty well. however, file uploads do not work (i heard it's a problem with both mod_jk and mod_webapp). certainly, this file (resp. image) upload is a must for antville... i am so close to saying "i made it!" but still this last step bothers me. does anyone out there have a clue? do i need the com.oreilly.servlet? or something similar (i doubt it, but i am just a lazy amateur bum)?
it seems as if the webapp module for apache does not handle the [PT] ("pass-through") parameter in rewrite rules correctly. instead of handing over the rewritten request uri to tomcat (and in consequence to the embedded servlet application), the uri is processed by apache itself... which lead to a lot of 404 server errors on my machine.
anyway, i succeeded with defining working rewrite rules that do pass-through the result using another method that actually is described in the tomcat 4 docs in the section "the ajp connector". unfortunately, not a very obvious place and very far apart from all that warp engine mumbo-jumbo in the first and overall sections. here, the jk module of version 3 is acting as software bridge between apache and tomcat (works perfectly, even with version 4.0.1).
