got a .avi file but it does not play even in the monopolyst's media player? moviecodec.com got some advice: identify the so-called fourcc code by searching for the string "vids" in the file using a text editor that can handle large files. the following four letters describe the codec needed to playback the file (e.g. div3).
peter mühlbauer: “das recht auf unglück”. remarkable quotes from science fiction movies cheek to cheek with intellectual buzzwordism. be not afraid.

strange, i found mr moustache amongst company of international wankers: at the website of m&m enterprises. <g>
however, from today's point of view klaus' handy future already unfolded in the past of those years. so go and get him as t-shirt!
a propos manga: currently, there is an exhibition about manga comics in the museum für ostasiatische kunst in berlin-dahlem (running until 16 september).
every monday new and hard to find: klickart by friederike (aka verena hochleitner). look for the select form on the right.
my favourites: römerquelle and make a frog jump.
beginning of the year i lent the "handbuch internet v.5.0" to a girl who was looking for a new job as graphic designer in vienna. i got the book as a gift from my former employer, pixelwings, who are involved in the production of the book.
it still was wrapped in cellophane when i met the girl and i demonstratively unwrapped it to make clear that it's not a sanctuary. casually, i browsed through some of the pages and to my surprise found the following article about weblogs: "keine angst vor links" by patrick dax (published here courtesy by the author).
until that moment i never thought that this book would be of any interest to me. but sometimes my prejudices turn out to be wrong, though. thanks for the link! and the girl got a new job as well.
btw. patrick dax certainly got his personal blog, too. at the moment he has not enough time updating it, he told me. but he hopes to continue blogging, soon. meanwhile, i recommend his "micro drama" orange car crash.
and yesterday, two of the editors of the "handbuch" series, claudia altendorfer and eckart holzinger, occasionally got together just at the same table where i was sitting. we talked about the difficulties of establishing the book in berlin.
while it sells very good in austria, the dot-bombers counting their blessings in berlin did not show very much interest in the project. so the book was sponsored by an austrian company. now those companies that missed getting their advert into the book are going crazy for the authors. the next issue probably will be a best-seller in berlin, too. really weird, those germans.
the register: "in today's guardian richard adams (who we note has not been round to ply us with beers recently) writes that colleague jane martinson has received a complaint from ms spinner mark thomas for describing steve ballmer as 'a chief executive who looks like uncle fester.'"
it's always a sign of a someone's integrity how noble he can handle humourous attacks against his person.
thanks, henso, for the link to the slashdot article "clay shirky explains internet evolution".
very interesting to read what that guy knows about internet technology. but (p3k turns to shirky), concerning the implications on politics and society, you are full of shit, mr shirky...
i personally do not believe in a government run like a business and a society laissez-faire being the promises of the next ten years. it will take some ages again to correct the desastrous developments of such oversimplifying ideas. it will cost some years in suffragette city.
there is no such thing like a partial pundit. there is no need for heroes anymore, anyway.
