hoopla: "for best results press eyes against screen."

web ad blocking under linux/unix, beos, macos and windows – verrry clever, verrry simple idea.

go somewhere(?) with whirl-an-url using patented "vague explanation technology" by ga2so.com (crazy guy!) – flavorless, not tasteless.

metababy has returned. no changes so far, which means that design and functionality are still on the basic level just as its content is an inexhaustible pool of hilarious items: e.g. www.wreckoftheedmundfitzgerald.net bringing to us this incredible song as performed by "the pressurized floating whist".

brain lego: "this year on october 2, 2001, the date in mmddyyyy format will be a palindrome (same forwards as backwar): 10/02/2001. when was the last date that this occurred on?" – solution is available at answers to technical interview questions (found via langreiter.com).

i do not dig the american date format at all.

sensomatic's sensorama is really a cute place to rest for a while from the plight of modern internet times. my favorite is "the bee" (although netscape is necessary). outch!

the fabuolous hannes (who finally will blog at henso.com, soon) prepared la grand dame d'enregistrer la pain perdue dans le cyber-espace aka helma.at for a special view onto the many, many entries between october 14, 1998 and december 8, 1999.

on the week-end i visited the university of applied sciences (or whatever you call a fachhochschule in english) in dornbirn. to be precise: i took a look at the exhibition handmacht (which means both "hand makes" as well as "hand power"). it's strange that i did not get the whole picture when stefan pointed to the website. this seems to be a proof that physical presence is superior to telepresence. haptics rock!

what we always wanted to know about the differences between flash and gif animations – explained by xplane.
