i wish i could join the kulturseminar "bauern im film" (cultural seminar "farmers in the movies"). it's pretty cool to be somewhere in the outback of austria, in a small village called trins watching excellent motion pictures like jamila (after a novel of chingiz aitmatov), der schandfleck ("the blemish", after a novel of ludwig anzengruber) or – certainly my personal favorite – die piefke-saga (by felix mitterer)... but what about die siebtelbauern? this movie is a must-see and should have been included in the programme! why don't they read the farmer's manual?!
btw: it's always a sure sign that the year is drawing to a close when i see the viennale adverts everywhere...
