CVS Pserver and Xinetd (includes section about anonymous read-only cvs).

update: anonymous cvs access finally works!

and what did i learn?

  • cvs itself is configured by checking out CVSROOT and adding and committing files
  • xinetd is great
  • cvs release -d
  • find -type d -exec chmod 755 '{}' \; (also works good with -type f)

i have set up a new weblog for the parss project.

(reminder: parss is responsible for the funny news stream called merged feeds in this antville installation.)

if i made everything right the curious should be able to dive into parss more easily.

please let me know, here or at the project log (both share the same user base), if you have difficulties with the texts, the links, the downloads or the installation...

all in all i hope you'll have at least a little bit of fun with parss.

c'mon, malmoe, a last one...

i just discovered another weblog article inside malmoe. (actually it's about antville and weblog software, open source and gift economy and all that philosphical mumbo-jumbo.)

to my surprise it was written by wolfgang zeglovits who i know from popo.at (which certainly was not a political weblog).

update: here's wolfgang's weblog.

It's a good article. maybe this is the one, henso was referring to, lately.

uhm, could it be that the items of the new york times rss feeds all come along with the wrong time (zone)?

it's now close to17:00 gmt and that rite aid story (for example) has a pubdate of "Tue, 17 Jun 2003 19:16:08 GMT". the original article displays "Filed at 11:35 a.m. ET".

i consider something like "Tue, 17 Jun 2003 15:35:00 GMT" would be right, wouldn't it?

or is there yet another date bug in parss?

btw. does the ny times always publish unlinked urls? update: oops, now it's completely gone... strange.

note: p3k is located in cet zone, ie. currently GMT+02:00.

ginger – i think it sucks.

Boing Boing Blog: "Europe proposes right-of-reply. A European policy group is proposing that those who are criticised on the Internet should have a right to reply in the same space where the criticism appeared".

darn!

i can't find the structural difference between any antville rss feed and the one of the register that causes the latter one to throw a sax parser error in parss...
