who would dare to do this powerbook g4 400 to 500mhz speed bump to his/her machine? either save 1000$ or waste 5000$...
don't have a g4 powerbook? no problem. e.g. speed up a mac se to 1ghz and put it in cryogenic suspension (please mind the date).
wilfredo sánchez: "the challenges of integrating the unix and mac os environments".
cool: "managing websites using unix" and simultaneously learning some secrets about building files with "make".
and hfs utilities permit manipulation of hfs volumes from unix and other systems.
brrrrrr, due to a leak in the gas main of the house i live in, i won't have any warm water for the whole week-end. after the messy weather of the last days, i hope it will be three darn hot days. please...
setting up your os x from scratch. should have read that before installing...
an even older supercomputer as my performa 475 is now available as macintosh emulation: power64, commodore 64 for power macintosh. hey, at least not as heavy as a cray...
for those who think this is still too much, there's also power20, emulating the commodore vc20 ("volkscomputer").
this is just a quote: "good times, these are the good times." chic
telepolis: "schockierende einzelheiten über das brutale vorgehen der italienischen polizei".
as usual you don't have to wait very long until the whole messy story is revealed. the good, the bad and the ugly.
btw. what's the difference between an activist and a journalist? is it the same as between a neo-nazi and a criminal? phantom distinctions, baby.
die zeit: "intime notizen für alle die 'blogger' führen öffentlich ein protokoll ihres internet-lebens".
my feet! up yours for all this public internet intimacy bullshit!
anyway, nothing new, just for the records. except that the quotes around blogger make me wanna abandon the word...
still better: what's new, june 1993. famous pages may be stuffed with dead links and nobody complains. purr!
i consider it quite stupid that apple's latest "web sharing" software update overwrites a newer version of apache (1.3.20) with an older one (1.3.19) and messing up php support... at least it is quite stupid to combine different packages (apache, openssh and sudo) in one update. grmbl.
it seems that not only the users have to learn coping with the different infrastructure of the new mac os.
