as expected, i too built my own p3k lego logo with the lego font creator...
hey, i will stick one of those on the walls of semperdepot next time they gather for firsttuesday...
crash, navigator, crash! i hardly can wait to get the mac version of internet explorer 5. a colleague extensively tested the beta and is convinced that this browser will be a redemption for all netscape users under the (meanwhile) red apple. yet, the mac browsers are a reason to favour surfing with windows. (what about linux? something better than netscape? uh-oh...)
okay, mozilla.org probably is close to a final release of version 5+1. but i did not get the impression that this will be a stable browser for the mac. praise xul, but it's the time that i prefer reliability rather than another buggy-wuggy feature-shmeature. i've had enough of this just recently.
the browser war is over, and explorer has won.
watch the punces selling out the internet...
a few days ago on the mailing-list of firsttuesday's viennese version someone wrote that he was disappointed from that event. he missed the "nerds and geeks with birkenstocks" and compared the night at the semperdepot to an assembly of "slicky bankers".
glad someone raised the voice i reacted happily with consent but my message was blocked by the moderator twice. that's how they cope with criticism in austria.
but i don't care because mon coeur toujours reste le même (where is that poor oe-ligature entity? no wonder french people neglect web-anglicisms).
"Create like a God, Command like a King, Work like a Slave"... i know this motto from guy kawasaki's wonderful book “rules for revolutionaries”. it's a quote from the romanian artist constantin brancusi.
storyteller kristian idol seems to like this quote, too.
in german i would have written the last sentence like this: auch bei kristian idol läßt sich eine gewisse affinität zu diesem zitat nicht leugnen. this simply does not work in english. because english impresses through simplicity.
i got a little bit nostalgic, when i saw netdyslexia publishing an old picture to be found in the archives of helma.at. reading the old helma stories, i noticed that i felt much easier at that time. i feel pretty strange at the moment. i mean: like a stranger.
the open directory project: "As the web grows, automated search engines and directories with small editorial staffs will be unable to cope with the volume of sites. The Open Directory Project's goal is to produce the most comprehensive directory of the web, by relying on a vast army of volunteer editors."
the data of the open directory is dumped as rdf files which are more or less xml-compliant.
netdyslexia: "I wonder, why certain Euroblog owners refer to Euroblogs without submitting their websites. You just have to fill in a simple form. Or should we make a competition?" that's aimed at me! and i wonder if this is meant to be an invitiation...
i like the netdyslectics' attitude. i like their ideas. i like the pictures they have. and the banners are extraordinary... ok, i give in: i will register hgb as euroblog on their site.
however, a competition can be fun assumed i win the right prize, heheh.
funny, netdyslexia and hgb seem to share some understanding of sexiness with each other.
slogans for the pessimistic faction of the internet generation (part I): NULL BYTE! NO FE@TURE!
argh! i got an overdose of links thanks(?) to jesse james garret's portal and the "page of only weblogs".
